Two moms don’t give up hope on the 3 year anniversary of a missing Coachella Valley couple

It's been three years since Audrey Moran and Jonathan Reynoso disappeared from the Coachella Valley. On May 10, 2017, Moran reportedly finished work at "Extra Space Storage" in Bermuda Dunes. She planned to meet Reynoso later that night. The couple has not been seen ever since.

On Mother's Day 2020, the Facebook group "Find Audrey Moran", stated, "Blessed be God for the beauty we find in the midst of uncertainties. My heart & prayers goes out to all the mothers on earth. For all the mothers that have a continuous challenge of getting through a day of missing a child they have lost in any way. For all the mothers who are able to hold & see their child and get through the daily worries of raising them in this sometimes unforgiving world. God is our strength and fortress and with him at our side we are strong in our weakness. Thank you to all the mothers, mothers in waiting and the women who dream to become a mother. Thank you, for given our family support, strength and hope in our journey. May you all have a blessed day."

On the night of their disappearance, Moran left her job at Extra Space Storage in Bermuda Dunes, briefly stopped at her sister's at around 8:00 p.m., then left to pick up Jonathan. The pair were set to meet at an unknown location between Coachella and Imperial County.

One of Jonathan's friends told News Channel they last heard from him at around 9:05 pm that same night in a group chat on Instagram. His last message, now ominous, was "I'm dying right now," in response to memes his friends sent him.

Then, Jonathan and Audrey's phones powered off.

On May 11, 2017, Indio police locate Audrey car using an On-Star system installed in the vehicle. It's found along the side of Interstate 10 in Beaumont. But nothing seemed amiss with the car. 

"No forced entry on the vehicle, no signs of forced entry in the vehicle, no blood or anything like that," Indio Police Department Sgt. Dan Marshall,

Lieutenant Walter Mendez has been working the case since the start and has been in regular contact with Jonathan and Audrey's loved ones.

"I'd like to assure them that we're doing everything we can to bring them home," Mendez said. "We'll have answers at some point that will help us resolve and determine what happened to them two years ago."

"You can't give up hope. You have to work. It's hard. It's hard work. It's painful at times, but you can't give up hope. There's people that depend on you. Your community depends on you, the families. Two young people at the start of their life they have the whole future ahead of them. So, it's important we get those answers and we will," Mendez said.
