Four displaced following a house fire in Indio Hills

Three adults and a child were displaced after their home caught on fire Tuesday morning in Indio Hills.

The home was located on the 28000 Block of Happy Valley Road in Indio Hills, an unincorporated community along Dillon Road north of Indio and Coachella.

According to the California Highway Patrol, witnesses reported that
the fire appeared to have spread from the garage to the house

Cal Fire confirmed that the fire was initially reported at 10:10 a.m. The fire was fully contained at approximately 11:05 a.m.

The Red Cross was called in to help the displaced residents find temporary living arrangements.

Cal Fire did not release details on what started the fire as the cause remains under investigation.
