Palm Springs becomes first valley city to launch spanish-language Facebook page

Palm Springs City Hall

Palm Springs launched a spanish-language Facebook page, becoming the first Coachella Valley city to do so.

The page is called "Gobierno de Municipal de Palm Springs."

The city hopes the page will help better communication with the growing Latino community and encourage more engagement with the coronavirus pandemic and what is happening within city government.

"The City of Palm Springs prides itself on being one of the most inclusive and welcoming communities in the nation. It is important to the City Council that we do our best to reach out to everyone, including our growing Latino community, whose first language may not be English," said City Manager David H. Ready.

Ready stressed the importance of making sure every resident is informed about city orders and critical information, especially during the coronavirus emergency.
