Hiker rescued from Bump and Grind Trail in Palm Desert
An injured hiker was airlifted from the Bump and Grind Trail in Palm Desert Wednesday morning.
The "hiker down" call was received at 7:23 a.m. from a hard-to-reach area on the trail, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
A helicopter was able to land near the hiker's location, but after being airlifted from the trail, the hiker declined transport to an area hospital, a county fire spokeswoman said.
This is the second rescue off the Bump and Grind Trail in a week.
On Thursday morning, first responders rescued a hiker who was in "severe distress."
The hiker was airlifted off the trail. She was delivered to a ground ambulance and transported to the hospital in critical condition. There has been no update on her condition.
