Staff & residents at local senior care community test positive for coronavirus

16 people at the Rancho Mirage Terrace, a senior care community, tested positive for coronavirus.

A spokesperson for Atria Management Company, the company that operates the facility, said that on June 4, all residents and employees at the facility were tested by the Riverside County Department of Public Health.

The test results showed that four employees and 12 residents tested positive.

The spokesperson added that five employees and 14 residents have tested positive in total since the beginning of the year.

According to Riverside University Public Health data, there have been 1,317 cases at long-term care facilities across Riverside County. 824 of those cases have been patients, while 493 have been staff members.

The majority of cases have been reported in the city of Riverside, however, the valley city with the most long-term care cases is Palm Desert with 57.
