The city of Palm Springs has shut down N Indian Canyon at the Whitewater Wash due to flooding.

The area is just off the Interstate 10 exit. It is a major roadway for people looking to get in and out of Palm Springs.
As of 12:45 p.m., Gene Autry and Vista Chino remain open.
A First Alert Weather Alert has been issued ahead of an incoming storm system expected to bring rain, wind, and mountain snow to the region. The Coachella Valley could see around a quarter of an inch of rainfall in the West Valley, with lighter totals eastward.
