Hiker dies after suffering a medical emergency
A hiker is dead after suffering a medical emergency on the San Jacinto Peak Trail near Pine Cove.
The Riverside County Fire Department responded to the trail around 11:40 a.m. where they tried to reach the hiker. The Rescue 9 helicopter was unable to access the area where the hiker was located and the victim died before the responders arrived.
The hiker's identity was not immediately known.
