Car vs. pole, driver suspected of DUI
The California Highway Patrol was investigating an early morning car crash that happened in Palm Desert on Saturday.
An official with the CHP said a BMW was headed eastbound on Varner Road around 3:30 a.m. when it crashed into a traffic signal near Berkey Drive.
The driver was reportedly the only person inside during the incident.
The CHP official said the driver was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence.
There were no reports of injuries.
