There are new developments in a missing persons story out of the High Desert.

An attorney associated with the case told CBS 8 in San Diego that human remains, believed to be those of missing Chinese tourist Fang Jin, were found in the Anza-Borrego Desert.

The attorney told CBS 8 that they had been found on Saturday.

CBS 8 also reported that remains believed to be those of ex-Navy Seal John Fitzpatrick were found by a camper on September 17 in Harper Canyon in Anza-Borrego.

Fang met Fitzpatrick on social media and flew into Palm Springs in July to meet Fitzpatrick in person and tour the desert area.

The attorney describes their relationship as "romantic."
