Two men arrested after body found in vehicle in Whitewater
The Riverside County Sheriff's Department confirms that two men have been arrested for the murder of an unidentified man, found dead in Whitewater on Wednesday.
The body was found on the 15700 block of Country View Road in Whitewater. It was reported to police at around 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said. It was later confirmed that the victim was shot at the property and found outside of a vehicle parked in a driveway.
One suspect, a 40-year-old resident of Whitewater, was detained at the scene and later arrested on Thursday. The second suspect, a 48-year-old resident of Palm Springs, was also arrested on Thursday in Palm Springs.
The victim was identified as Johnny Sanchez, 32, of Desert Hot Springs.
Both men are awaiting official charges by the Riverside County D.A.'s Office at the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio.
