Big rig knocks down utility line in Cathedral City, homes and roadways are impacted

Cathedral City emergency crews are on scene in a neighborhood that is dealing with downed cable lines across roadways and several homes.

Cathedral City Fire was called to the area of Avenida Del Yermo North of Vega Road around 10am due to a big rig crash that struck the lines toppling them down across several blocks.

Police have shut down a couple of streets near the accident scene and have requested that residents in the neighborhoods shelter in place while they work to clear the hazards.
