Officials Share New Details on Indio House Fire, Crews Working to Restore Power

An early morning fire ripped through a home in Indio, leaving one Valley family picking up the pieces.

The fire started just before 2 AM. Officials confirm the fire started from a transformer explosion, which set a nearby tree on fire, spreading to the house.

Firefighters arrived shortly after and were able to put out the fire in half an hour.

Everyone made it out of the home safely, but tell News Channel 3 they had to leave everything behind.

Earlier today, crews were seen working to restore power in the area, with road closures on Denslow Street between Beachwood and Date.
