Law enforcement recruitment declines, calls increase for more secret service support

Following an apparent assassination attempt of former President Trump over the weekend, what would be the second attempt in about 60 days, more concerns about the Secret Service and their resources.

Representative Ro Khanna releasing a statement on X saying "The secret service must come to Congress... tell us what resources are needed to expand the protective perimeter."

According to experts, law enforcement across the country has yet to recover from a workforce decline due to the pandemic and protests against police. Some young people are also concerned about pay and potential dangers.

CHP is hosting a job fair in Beaumont Tuesday, September 17, to try and fill 1,000 officer positions.
