Local teacher accused of being drunk on a Disneyland trip where student suffered medical emergency

During Tuesday's PSUSD board meeting, two Cathedral City High School students claimed a teacher was drunk and others nowhere to be found when a student suffered a medical emergency.

This all occurred on a trip to Disneyland last month, November 3, for an ASB leadership conference.

The students were accompanied by their two teachers and the principal. According to the students at the meeting, it took about an hour to get a hold of one of the teachers via phone, who had the student's medication. Neither the second teacher or principal could be reached. The student was eventually attended and was later informed that one of the teachers was intoxicated.

They added there were minimal check-ins.

In a statement to News Channel 3, the district says:

"The District is aware of and investigating the concern per board policy. Personnel matters are confidential."

Parents are looking for answers and asking for the district to address the behavior of those involved.
