Leadership in question in Coachella as Mayor’s absences delay city council actions
COACHELLA, Calif. (KESQ) - City leadership concerns continue in Coachella as Mayor Steven Hernandez, who was arraigned in October on perjury and conflict of interest charges, has made fewer appearances at City Council meetings. Hernandez's absences have prompted some council actions to be postponed.
At Wednesday’s council meeting, the mayor’s absence resulted in the postponement of three items, including the selection of a new Mayor Pro Tem and appointments to council subcommittees.
