2 killed in chain-reaction crash at a Georgia welcome center that engulfed semitrucks in flame

PORT WENTWORTH, Ga. (AP) — Authorities say two truck drivers are dead following a chain-reaction crash at a Georgia welcome center that engulfed several tractor-trailers in flames. The wreck happened Wednesday night at a welcome center off Interstate 95 near the Georgia-South Carolina line. Trooper 1st Class Joshua Staff of the Georgia State Patrol says a semitruck entered the parking lot at high speed and slammed into a second commercial truck, setting off a chain of collisions damaging six total vehicles. Staff says the crash sparked a fire that burned all of the involved trucks. The drivers of the speeding tractor-trailer and the truck that it plowed into were both killed. No other injuries were reported.
