Riverside County coronavirus update: 159 new cases, 5 deaths, 56 recoveries
Riverside County health officials provided the latest update on coronavirus cases, deaths, hospitalizations, and recoveries in the last 24 hours.

The total number of cases has jumped to 2,264 That's an increase of 159 since yesterday's update.
The number of deaths went from 54 to 59. There is no info on the latest deaths, including, location or age. County data shows that most of the deaths have been males.
There are 207 patients hospitalized (this includes those in the ICU). There are currently 70 patients in the ICU.
So far, 472patients have successfully recovered.
There have been 29,571 patients tested so far, according to the county.
Riverside County opened a fourth testing site in Perris on Tuesday. The other three are located in Indio, Riverside, and Lake Elsinore.
Those who want to be tested can call 800-945-6171 and specify which location is preferable.

Some of the Riverside County cities with a large number of cases includes Riverside (365), Moreno Valley (226), Corona (98), and Temecula (76).
Number in cities like Banning went from 102 yesterday to 16 today. According to county spokesperson Brooke Federico, this is because officials have pulled out cases from the jails and combined them all into one number. There are 103 cases in county jails.

- 0 to 4: 15 cases
- 5 to 17: 44 cases
- 18 to 39: 617 cases
- 40 to 64: 890 cases
- 65 to 79: 327 cases
- 80+: 140 cases
Cases by Gender:
- Female: 1,100
- Male: 969
The doubling rate for Riverside County is currently 8.7 days. That means it would take nine days for cases to double. This is a big increase from the previous data that showed our doubling rate at 4.6 days, showing the promising results that protective measures like staying at home, covering the face, and testing are having.
As part of continued efforts to grow the doubling rate and "flatten the curve" of coronavirus, Riverside County public health officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser ordered everyone to wear a face-covering when leaving home, including essential workers.
Face coverings can be bandanas, scarves, neck gaiters or other clothing that does not have visible holes.
This order runs through April 30.
