Riverside County update: Indio surpasses 100 cases, recoveries exceed 500
Riverside County health officials provided the latest update on coronavirus cases, deaths, hospitalizations, and recoveries over the last 24 hours.

The total number of cases has jumped to 2,457.
The number of deaths went from 59 to 69. There is no info on the latest deaths, including, location or age. County data shows that most of the deaths have been males.
There are patients hospitalized, 70 patients in the ICU.
544 patients have successfully recovered so far.
32,779 patients have been tested so far at the county’s four community test sites, clinics, hospitals, and other locations.
Riverside County opened a fourth testing site in Perris on Tuesday. The other three are located in Indio, Riverside, and Lake Elsinore.
Officials announced an expansion of testing. Now, county residents who don't have symptoms can schedule an appointment to be tested.

Some of the Riverside County cities with a large number of cases includes Riverside (407), Moreno Valley (249), Corona (108), Hemet (106) and Temecula (78).
Riverside has the most deaths in the county with 14. Palm Springs and Moreno Valley have the next most with 8 each.
Number in cities like Banning went from 102 earlier this week to 16 today. According to county spokesperson Brooke Federico, this is because officials have pulled out cases from the jails and combined them all into one number. There are 108 cases in county jails.

- 0 to 4: 17 cases
- 5 to 17: 47 cases
- 18 to 39: 692 cases
- 40 to 64: 956 cases
- 65 to 79: 351 cases
- 80+: 153 cases
Cases by Gender:
- Female: 1200
- Male: 1100
The doubling rate for Riverside County is currently 8.7 days. That means it would take nine days for cases to double. This is a big increase from the previous data that showed our doubling rate at 4.6 days, showing the promising results that protective measures like staying at home, covering the face, and testing are having.
As part of continued efforts to grow the doubling rate and "flatten the curve" of coronavirus, Riverside County public health officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser ordered everyone to wear a face-covering when leaving home, including essential workers.
Face coverings can be bandanas, scarves, neck gaiters or other clothing that does not have visible holes.
This order runs through April 30.
