California coronavirus update from Governor Newsom
Governor Gavin Newsom discussed sharp increases in hospitalizations and positive cases across California.
There was a 69% increases in positive cases between Sunday to Tuesday statewide. Newsom said a lot of the new cases are from increases in the Bay Area, but he did mention other counties, including Riverside County, as having recent increases.
There has also been a 29% increase in hospitalizations across the state over the past 14 days, according to Newsom. The state had been preparing, and most hospitals should have adequate capacity for patients.
Last week, personal care services like nail salons were allowed to reopen with safety modifications in place. In Riverside County, cases continue to rise.
