Indio man arrested on suspicion of credit card fraud & vehicle burglary
An Indio man was arrested on suspicion of credit card fraud and vehicle burglary.
Thursday afternoon, the La Quinta Special Enforcement Team found Daniel Arellano, 24, along the 78900 block of Highway 111 in La Quinta.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, Arellano was wanted for questioning regarding a felony evading case and an outstanding Post Release Community Supervision warrant. He was taken into custody without incident.
The Sheriff's Department further revealed that when Arellano was arrested, the team located property believed to have been fraudulently bought, along with a credit card that had a different person's name on it.
A follow-up investigation led the team to determine that Arellano used the credit card to fraudulently buy items from a local business. Authorities contacted the owner of the credit card.
"It was determined the credit card was stolen during an unreported vehicle burglary in the unincorporated area of Palm Desert at approximately 3:30 AM," reads a Sheriff's Department release.
The team was able to find the suspect vehicle, a 2008 gray Nissan Altima in the 78300 block of Varner Road in Palm Desert. A tow truck took the vehicle to the Thermal Sheriff's Station as evidence.
A search warrant was authored for the vehicle and served, which led to authorities to find more stolen property.
Arellano was booked into the Riverside County jail in Indio.
The La Quinta Special Enforcement Team is asking anyone with additional information to contact Deputy Preciado at the Thermal Sheriff's Station by calling (760)-863-8990.
