TWENTY NINE PALMS MARINE BASE 29 PALMS

A 40-year-old Vista man was arrested on Friday after authorities say he tried to enter the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC) in Twentynine Palms using a fake ID card.

Deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff's Station were called to the 3400 block of Adobe Road to assist Provost Marshal Officers with the suspect on Friday at approximately 8:51 a.m.

The suspect, identified as Miguel Angel Felix, was arrested for being in possession of forged identification card with intent to defraud.

The department did not release any information on why Felix was attempting to gain access to the marine base. He was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail Friday morning, however, his bail was set to $0 in compliance with the statewide Emergency Bail Schedule and he was released from custody that same day.

The statewide Emergency Bail Schedule sets the bail at $0 for most misdemeanor and lower-level felony offenses
