Six arrested after reports of a shooting in Palm Springs
Six people were arrested after a police officer reported hearing gunshots in a Palm Springs neighborhood overnight on Tuesday.
Police were originally called to the area of Granada Ave and Tramview Rd. just after midnight to respond to multiple disturbance calls about a block party in the neighborhood.
Officials with the Palm Springs Police Department said no crimes could be established during the calls, but an officer reported hearing about five gunshots coming from the neighborhood and saw a vehicle leaving north on Indian Canyon Drive at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle was stopped, and the six occupants were detained by multiple officers responding. An officer found a gun inside the car with expended casings matching those found by officers responding to the scene on Granada Avenue and Tramview Road, PSPD confirmed.
PSPD’s Special Enforcement Unit arrived to assist with the investigation.
The agency said no injured victims were located in the neighborhood.
Three men and 3 women were arrested on various ammunition, firearm, gang, and conspiracy charges. All suspects were transported to Indio Jail.
