California conducting a survey of its older LGBTQ+ population

For the first time, the state of California is conducting a survey of its older LGBTQ population.

The survey is anonymous and can be done online. Researchers will use the responses to learn more about the well-being of our state's older LGBTQ residents.

The information will also be used to inform California policies and programs.

"Why is it so important that our community be aware of this survey, and take part?" Peter Daut asked said Jax Kelly, president of lkaps.org.

Kelley responded, "Our population is a significant part of the state's lgbtqia population, so if we can get most of the people here in the community to take part in the survey, we'll get a lot of the work done for this state."

"We're not going to get a lot of services for LGBTQI older persons in the state of California until we get the numbers of people who tell us what the state should be providing for us," Kelley added.
