Rancho Mirage Writers Festival kicks off this week
It's been called "Coachella for the Brain."
The Rancho Mirage Writers Festival kicks off this week and this year's theme is "celebrating ten years."
The festival is sold out and features seventy sessions with a variety of authors over two-and-a-half days. This year's authors include General David Petraeus and director John Waters.
When Jamie Kabler started the festival a decade ago, he said he had no idea it would become one of the most popular and celebrated events in our valley.
"It brings some of the greatest speakers and writers, and it's more of an ideas festival that's evolved over the years. And so they all come here for a week, and they love being here," said Jamie Kabler, founder & president of the Rancho Mirage Writers Festival.
