33 mobile homes lose power in Palm Desert

A fire in an underground electrical vault caused 33 mobile homes in Palm Desert to lose power Sunday evening.

As of Monday morning, 30 customers remained without service, but Southern California Edison said most power should be restored by 7:15 a.m. Monday before updating that estimate to 11:15 a.m. for most customers.

Cal Fire said it was first reported before 5 p.m. off Portola Avenue.

Officials said firefighters contained the fire at 5:12 p.m.

The County of Riverside Emergency Management Department is helping the impacted residents.

No injuries were reported.
