CHP reported temporary SIG ALERT after deadly I-10 crash in Palm Desert

The CHP confirmed the driver of the Camry was uninjured and arrested for DUI.

An official with California Highway Patrol said a silver Toyota Camry was the first to crash while driving on Eastbound I-10, just west of Washington Street.
The driver reportedly got out of the vehicle and left the vehicle in the #1 lane.
The CHP official said the driver of another vehicle - a Buick Cutlas - who was driving in the #1 lane just after 1:30 a.m. crashed into the Toyota Camry. The driver reportedly died on scene.

The CHP was set to reopen one lane on the I-10 about half an hour after full eastbound closure was first announced.

The California Highway Patrol reported a full eastbound I-10 closure near Washington Street after a deadly crash involving at least two vehicles.
It was reported after 1:30 a.m. Saturday in Palm Desert.
Cal Fire said one person died on scene and a second person suffered moderate injuries.
The California Highway Patrol was leading the investigation.
