Subtle weekend cooling, but still above normal

Friday, Palm Springs reached a high temperature of 100°. Today, temperatures will be a few degrees cooler. High's through the weekend are expected to stick around in the 90s. The average for this time of year is 89°.

Near the coast temperatures will be closer to average, in the desert we will be above average. Zonal flow is what we are expecting throughout the weekend, allowing for a subtle cool down with mild weather. We will also feel northwesterly winds on the breezy side for the morning and afternoon through the overnight hours. Winds will be lighter Sunday with gusts returning for Sunday evening.

Winds will be 15-25 mph with gusts between 30-40 mph possible at times.

Now temperatures, this weekend staying in the 90s. A ridge of high pressure builds Tuesday and will bring high temperatures in the triple digits yet again. Get more of those dog walks in during the morning hours during most of the week ahead.
