Another day, another record high temperature

Palm Springs broke the high temperature record again today. It's the second straight day of 120s. Seasonal average is 103°.

The dangerous heat continues into Labor Day with temperatures nearing 120° again in the Coachella Valley. It's best to stay in the air conditioning and stay out of the sun. Make sure to drink plenty of water!

The heat, plus dry conditions and Santa Ana winds bring the risk of fires sparking in Southern California over the next few days. Fires that do spark can spread very quickly. Avoid outdoor burning and any other activities that could cause fires to spark.

By Tuesday, a trough of low pressure starts to move in and temperatures will cool down a bit. We'll be back near seasonal on Wednesday!
