Overnight rain departs as quick moving storms moves East

A fast moving low pressure system dropped more than a quarter of an inch of rain in Palm Springs overnight, but now skies are clearing. We'll be cooler today, with highs only near 60 behind that storm.

A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 p.m. as gusty winds swirl around that departing low. In addition, a Winter Storm Warning is in effect until Noon for communities above 6,000 feet as close to another foot of snow fell overnight in our local mountains.

The storm will be centered over the Four Corner states by late today so we'll see plenty of sunshine for today, despite the chilly conditions.

Heading into the rest of the week, expect a gradually warming trend to kick in starting Saturday, with highs climbing to near 70 by early next week.
