80s and Nice Almost Through Christmas! Holidays, Bringing Changes

Warm and dry conditions this evening across the Coachella Valley. A lovely evening! As highs continue to trend mild and above average... once again topping out in the lower 80s and staying well above seasonal normal--which is currently upper 60s. This pleasant pattern holds through this weekend, though we'll start to notice a slight dip in temps as a cooling trend develops with a few more overnight clouds.

Early next week, the weather takes a turn as this Pacific storm system approaches--really what we're seeing here is a classic Pineapple Express pattern, that's going to continue to soak the PNW. Locally the southwest will begin seeing increasing clouds and a chance for light showers by Tuesday. More widespread rain is expected by Wednesday, with cooler temperatures settling in just ahead of Christmas. The unsettled pattern may linger into the holiday, keeping rain chances in the forecast through the end of next week. Heads up for travels that driving conditions could get interesting.
