Temperatures climb through Thursday

The average temperature for today is 100° and it looks like we will be right at average this afternoon.

A ridge of high pressure will continue to strengthen through Thursday. Offshore flow begins to weaken and a weak onshore flow begins for the coast. The heat peaks along the coast today, with a Heat Advisory going into effect at 11 a.m. In the desert, the heat will peak Wednesday and Thursday.

Air Quality will improve a bit today with the forecast down to "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups." Those who fall in this category should try to remain indoors with closed windows and doors.

A trough of low pressure will begin to move in Friday, where temperatures will see a bit of a cool down. Gusty SW winds are expected to return for the mountains and desert Friday and Saturday along with this trough.
