Weather Insider: Desert superblooms explained

Spring is in full swing and so is spring wildflower season here in the desert. Thousands upon thousands of flowers are in bloom all across the desert.

This year's superbloom has been in the making since last summer thanks to all the rain from Hilary and the monsoon. While the peak time to see the superbloom here on the valley floor has just passed, things are just getting started up in the High Desert.

There are still a number of places to see the superbloom. Here on the valley floor, places like Edom Hill, the Coachella Valley Nature Preserve, and The Living Desert are all great options. You can also check out Anza-Borrego State Park or up in the High Desert.
