Excessive Heat Warning now in effect

RECORD HIGHS

For the second day in a row, valley cities have warmed into the triple digits. And for the the second day, Thermal has tied the record high for today's date in the city. Palm Springs has done the same.

Heat alerts are in places across Southern California. For the Coachella Valley, an Excessive Heat Warning is in effect through Sunday evening for temperatures up to 105°.

The reason for the heat? A ridge of high pressure that won't back down. This weather pattern setup will remain through the weekend and into next week.

Palm Springs could easily tie its record on Saturday, a record that's held since the 1920s!
