DHS PD present brother of drowning victim with birthday gift
A Desert Hot Springs detective presented the brother of an 8-year-old boy who died after drowning in a pool at a DHS hotel.
Detective Tooth presented Issac Moore’s older brother with a card and a certificate to “Game Stop” for a video game that he wanted for his birthday.
The boy’s brother, 8-year-old Issac Moore, drowned earlier this month in a pool at the Vista Ventana Spa & Resort in Desert Hot Springs.

According to Desert Hot Springs Police Chief Dale Mondary, DHS PD officers were investigating the drowning when Detective Tooth discovered that Issac’s brother’s birthday was coming up.
Detective Tooth knew that with the death of his brother and the family focusing on funeral arraignments, the boy’s birthday may be placed on the back burner. Detective Tooth thought of getting the boy a little gift as a way to cheer him up a bit, Mondary said.
Mondary said that Detective Tooth had learned that the boy was asking for a specific video game for his birthday so Tooth went out and bought it. Tooth then called up the boy’s mother and asked her to bring him to the station where Tooth gave him his birthday gift.
