Cathedral City police confirm one person wounded in weekend shooting

Police confirmed that one person was wounded in a Saturday night shooting in Cathedral City.

The shooting happened shortly after 8:30 pm on the 30-100 block of San Antonio Drive.

One person was shot in the incident, according to Commander Julio Luna, Public Information Officer for the Cathedral City Police Department.

The condition of the victim has not been released.

Officers are looking for more information on this crime. They ask that if you witnessed anything, please call CCPD at 760-770-0362 or Valley Crime Stoppers at 760-341-7867.

This was the second shooting that took place Saturday in the Coachella Valley. A few hours before the Cathedral City shooting, a man was found in Indio with a gunshot wound in his upper torso. The man is currently in the ICU unable to speak.
