Toasty Halloween Temps for Trick-or-Treaters
Happy Halloween ! Trick-or-treaters can expect a warm and dry evening with clear skies, and temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s through sunset before slipping into the 70s later tonight. Hopefully you don't have too many layers on your costume. Maybe instead of candy bags we decorate a little cooler?

We've seen a lot of warm days this month -- 18 above average -- but unlike 2024, no record triple digits.

The ridge of high pressure parked over the region continues to keep things toasty, with highs in the 90s lingering well into the weekend and early next week—obviously well above seasonal averages.
If you're out and about this weekend, check out the Living Healthy Expo Saturday in Cathedral City. The event runs from 9am-2pm and several familiar News Channel 3 faces will be there.
A change is on the horizon, though. By Monday and Tuesday, a trough of low pressure moving in from the Pacific will begin to cool things down slightly but the desert will still run a few degrees warmer than normal.
Expect to see some more dry skies and light winds, with the first real cooldown arriving by midweek as the trough deepens. Overall, Halloween wraps up a warm stretch for the valley, but some much-needed fall relief is finally creeping closer.

Don't forget Daylight Saving Time ends Nov. 2nd. We "Fall Back", so while you get an extra hour of sleep Sunday, we're heading into a dreadfully long period of dark afternoon/evenings with sunsets before 5:00pm until January 15th.
