Brush fire burning on I-10 near Whitewater Rest Stop

Firefighters are working on putting out a brush fire burning on the right-hand shoulder of Interstate 10 just before the Whitewater rest stop.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fire was first reported at approximately 7:04 p.m.

Cal Fire and CHP crews are at the scene. So far, there is no word on lane closures.
