Disneyland planning phased reopening starting on July 9

Disneyland is proposing a phased reopening, beginning July 9, with a reopening of its theme parks by July 17.

"Sixty-five years to the date after the historic opening of Disneyland park, we are planning to open our theme park gates once again on July 17, 2020," a statement on the Disney Parks blog said Wednesday.

The plan is still pending state and local government approvals, according to the statement. Theme parks are not apart of the upcoming set of reopenings across the state and there has been no word on an estimated time when the industry will be allowed to operate again.

The park has been shut down since mid-March due to the
COVID-19 pandemic.
