Heroes honored at BNP Paribas Open Friday night

Old Glory was held fast in the able grip of Marines as it covered the court at Stadium One of the BNP Paribas Open Friday night.

It was all part of the ‘Salute to Heroes Night’ at the Indian Wells Tennis Gardens. Veterans, active due to the military, law-enforcement, and firefighters were honored for the sacrifices they make each and every day.

‘Rock for Vets’ is a non-profit musical group comprised of veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The group, based out of Long Beach, got to perform at the BNP Paribas Open Friday, their first time at the tennis tournament.

Some veterans and active-duty personnel who got their tickets ahead of time were actually able to enjoy all the tennis matches for free.
