Private investigator alleges child molestation investigation cover-up of former RSO investigator
A private investigator continues to pressure the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, claiming they covered-up a child molestation investigation involving a former Sheriffs investigator.
During a news conference Tuesday, Luis Bolanos and an attorney alleged more victims have come forward. They claim former senior investigator Kevin Duffy abused a number of children under the age of 14 before Duffy committed suicide back in 2009.
Bolanos alleges that a girl has now reported she was abused.
“One of these victims states that while she, again I say she, was a 15-year old explorer with the San Jacinto Police Department, she had an ongoing sexual relationship with then-officer Kevin Duffy of the San Jacinto Police Department,” Bolanos said.
A coroner’s report reveals a timeline of events over the two weeks leading up to Duffy’s suicide, including that he was “walked-off the job” for misconduct with a minor. His wife also reported two suicide attempts including one after Duffy had taken a polygraph
The Sheriff’s Department released a statement on the allegations, reading in part:
“While Mr. Bolanos has given press conferences offering his opinions, he has yet to sit down with investigators to offer advancing information. We remain confident this matter was thoroughly investigated and properly closed in 2009. To date, no additional victims have come forward.”
