Student Athlete of the Week – Kevin Johnson
All season long Kevin Johnson helped Shadow Hills find the end zone adding numbers to the stat sheet.
“He can always make something happen. He can turn a no gain into a 30 yard gain or a 5 yard gain into a touchdown,” Ron Shipley said.
Growing up he was crunching different kind of numbers.
“Helped my mom. She would always ask me when I was younger and I would always help her. She said I should be an accountant and just stuck with it,” Kevin Johnson said.
Carrying his love of math over to the 100 yard dash. Whether he has the football in his hand or he is running straight down the track.
“Kind of like math with timing, when I am going to do something. It’s not to do with accounting but with math,” Johnson said.
Definitely leaving his mark when it comes to athletics.
“I want to be remembered at this school. For new people coming I want to be remembered,”Johnson said.
Also to his fellow classmates at Shadow Hills.
“If we see someone by themselves we try to talk to them and make their day and stuff. We’re all like that. We want to accept everybody and not leave anybody by themselves,” Johnson said.
The homecoming king that does not sit on a throne.
“Very quiet and gets the job done and comes back to the sidelines. Never brags about anything,” Shipley said.
“I try to joke around with everybody around school and try to be a friend to everybody,” Johnson said.
