56-year man dies after possible Palm Springs drowning
A 56-year-old man died this morning in Palm Springs, according to Palm Police Department Sergeant Mike Casavan. It was reported as a possible drowning and is being investigated as such by the Riverside Coroner’s Bureau.
PSPD received the call of a reported drowning on the 500 block of Cotonwood Drive between North Chaparra Road and North Via Miraleste at around 8:00 a.m. The residence is just south of East Vista Chino.
Palm Springs Fire Department firefighters first responded to the scene, and found the victim, who was unresponsive, in the complex’s swimming pool. Life-saving efforts were attempted, but emergency crews were unable to resuscitate the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Riverside County Coroner’s Bureau is investigating the drowning, per Casvan.
Officers are investigating the incident as an accidental drowning.
