3 homes catch on fire at mobile home park in Indio
On Wednesday afternoon a fire broke out at a mobile home inside Pueblo del Sol Mobile Park on Avenue 46 and Clinton Street in Indio.
CalFire Riverside reported the blaze at 3:09 p.m. and located a mobile home fully engulfed with fire.
A few minutes later, the fire spread to two other homes, which were also fully involved with flames.

"It was crazy, I was watching a movie. I just heard a loud explosion and I came outside and I see the trailer on fire," said resident, Carlos Aceves Sotelo.
Sotelo described the sound he heard as a car crash, but quickly realized that his neighbor's home was on fire.
"At first it would start in the middle, then it went to the second one. It didn’t look that bad but you just kept hearing explosions," Sotelo said.
CalFire confirmed that after a home caught fire, it then spread to the homes on the sides of it.
"It’s a challenge when you have one home on fire but when you have multiple homes on fire you have to get your plan of attack going. Ultimately the concern for us was the exposures and the exposures for us was the additional mobile homes, which in this mobile home park," Capt. Richard Cordova with CalFire Riverside County said.
The blaze caused large plumes of smoke that could be seen for miles.
"The smoke stack was pretty high," said Indio resident, Hector Rodriguez.
Two vehicles were also damaged.
On Wednesday night, families returned to the areas they once called home. Many sifted through what was left of the debris.
"Five adults and 5 children have been displaced," said Capt. Cordova.
The Red Cross was also on scene to help affected families find shelter.
Meanwhile, crews remained on scene for hours, dousing hotspots and dismantling anything that appeared to be unstable.
CalFire confirmed to News Channel 3 that there no injuries reported.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
