Multi-Vehicle Accident Along Interstate 10
Two people were injured today in a crash involving three vehicles in Thousand Palms, officials said.
A pickup truck, motor home and Jeep were involved in the 1:53 p.m. accident on Varner Road just west of 38th Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
One motorist — it was unclear in which vehicle — was trapped and unconscious, and someone in the motor home complained of pain, the CHP said. Both were transported to the hospital to be treated.
Traffic on Interstate 10 was backed up for an hour as on-lookers slowed down to get a look at the wreckage. The scene should be cleared up for the evening commute, according to KESQ’s crew on-the-scene.
