Schools Ready To Reopen Wednesday In Calexico
Earthquake damaged schools in Calexico, which was rocked a month ago by a magnitude-7.2 quake along the California-Mexico border, are reopening Wednesday.
Aftershocks still rumble through the area, including a magnitude-4.6 shaker at 4:26 a.m. Tuesday. It was centered south of the border some 30 miles south-southeast of Calexico.

Calexico Unified School District superintendent Christina Luna said Monday that the reopening of 10 schools is sooner than expected. They were supposed to open next week.
District schools serving 9,500 students have been closed since the April 4 quake.
Luna says high winds have hampered asbestos cleanup at Calexico High School and Jefferson Elementary School, the most severely damaged school.
