I-10 Accident Snarls Traffic Through Cathedral City

A car accident on Interstate 10 eastbound near the Monterey Avenue exit has resulted in a backup that stretched for miles.

The accident was reported at 11:55 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol, and was complicated by animals inside the vehicle getting out on the freeway.

None was injured.

Two tow trucks were dispatched, according to the CHP, and the on-ramp to Interstate 10 from Ramon Road was also blocked off.
