Victim Identified In Deadly Car Crash in Coachella
A 24-year-old man who was killed in a crash that also injured four others in Coachella was identified today as an Indio resident.
Teofilo Isidoro-Huexca was pronounced dead at 4:31 p.m. Sunday on westbound Avenue 52 near Douma Street, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
Isidoro-Huexca was driving a Buick on Avenue 52 when he lost control of the car as he was passing another vehicle, said sheriff’s Lt. Frank Taylor.
“The Buick spun completely around and struck a westbound white Mitsubishi occupied by four people,” he said.
The people in the Mitsubishi were members of the same family, he said.
An 18-year-old man suffered serious head injuries, while a 22-year-old woman, 15-year-old girl and 2-year-old boy strapped in a car seat suffered minor to moderate injuries, Taylor said.
They were taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs.
The crash was under investigation, but it appeared that speeding was a factor, he said.
