Search Launched For Missing Riverside County Sex Offender
Authorities sought the public’s help today in locating a convicted rapist who allegedly jumped parole and is now living on the streets.
David Ray McReynolds, 53, was last seen two weeks ago in the area of Grand and Jurupa avenues, wandering around in a shopping center complex, according to Riverside police Officer Mike Dillon.
The parolee may be camped out along the Santa Ana River bottom, he said, adding that McReynolds is considered “high-risk.”
The ex-con was convicted of forcible rape in the 1980s. He has since been twice-convicted for failing to register as a sex offender. The Penal Code requires anyone in California convicted of a sex crime to keep law enforcement officials informed about where they’re living.
In 1996, McReynolds was sentenced to four years in state prison. He was sentenced to a two-year term in February 2009.
The parolee is 5-foot-10, around 190 pounds, with brown eyes, a mustache and shoulder-length brown and gray hair.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts was urged to call Dillon at (951) 905-7196.
