One Critically Injured In Mecca Car Crash

One person was critically injured today in a two-vehicle collision in Mecca, according to a fire department spokeswoman.

The patient had to be extricated from one of the vehicles following the 8:03 a.m. crash at the intersection of Avenue 68 and Grant Street, said Melody Hendrickson of Cal Fire.

No other injuries were reported.

The victim, whose name was not immediately released, was airlifted to a hospital around 8:30 a.m., Hendrickson said.
