Man Pleads Not Guilty To Killing Girlfriend’s Son

A 25-year-old Los Angeles parolee pleaded not guilty today to killing his girlfriend’s toddler.

Esteban Alamo faces felony charges of murder and assaulting a child for allegedly killing Serik Mathew Nieto.

The youngster died Oct. 9 — five days after the defendant allegedly hit the boy repeatedly, inflicting bruises all over his body, while Alamo was watching him at the mother’s house in Indio.

Alamo is being held on $1 million bail. He was extradited from Los Angeles County, where he was arrested in October on suspicion of violating terms of his parole for leaving the county.

Alamo is due back at the Larson Justice Center on April 7 for a felony settlement conference.
